Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
E. N. Arnold et al. 2002A small lizard with several external features that are widespread in autarchoglossans but rare or absent in iguanians and gekkotans, including: tail scales enlarged, in dorsal transverse rows that are alternately slightly longer and slightly shorter, a row of very large scales beneath crus, a single row of large scales along dorsum of each digit, and large scales on mesial surface of metatarsal region; scales on soles of feet and beneath digits tubercular; digits mesiolaterally compressed dis- tally with two ungual lamellae and strongly recurved claws. Differs from known autarchoglossans in exhibiting fewer transverse scale rows on dorsum of tail than on its ventral surface, the dorsal rows being replaced alternately by one and then two rows below the tail.
