Taxonomy
Heterodontus polonicus was named by Rees (2005). Its type specimen is ZPAL P.10/1, a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sample W1, Wạwał clay pit, which is in a Valanginian offshore claystone in Poland.
