It was assigned to Melanopsidae by Woods (1922); to Faunus by Fischer (1885) and Nagao (1928); to Pachychilidae by Pacaud and Le Renard (1995); to Thiaridae by Ladd (1972) and Squires (1999); and to Neotaenioglossa by Sepkoski (2002).
