Turris (Drillia) squamosa was named by Gabb (1873) [DISTRIBUTION: Miocene-Pliocene; Caribbean.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Pleurotoma squamosa by Guppy (1876); it was recombined as Drillia squamosa by Maury (1917).
