Taxonomy
Nucula tenuisculpta was named by Gabb (1873) [DISTRIBUTION: Late Miocene; Caribbean.]. Its type specimen is ANSP 2656, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Nucula (Nucula) tenuisculpta by Woodring (1973).
