Ampullina anguillana was named by Cooke (1919) [DISTRIBUTION: ?Oligocene-Miocene; Caribbean.]. Its type specimen is USNM 167021, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is USNM 3474, which is in a Miocene coastal siliciclastic in Cuba.
