Taxonomy
Cerithium fluviatile was named by Potiez and Michaud (1838) [DISTRIBUTION: Late Miocene; Pakistan.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Potamides fluviatilis by Tryon (1887); it was recombined as Potamides (Cerithidea) fluviatilis by Vredenburg (1928).
