Taxonomy
Cytherea porrecta was named by Koenen (1894) [DISTRIBUTION: Oligocene; Europe, Pakistan.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Pitar porrectus by Sacco (1900); it was recombined as Cytherea (Pitar) porrecta by Vredenburg (1928); it was recombined as Pitar porrecta by Iqbal (1969) and Iqbal (1980).
