Sigaretus aquensis praecedens was named by Sacco (1891) [DISTRIBUTION: Oligocene; Mediterranean, Pakistan.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Sinum aquensis praecedens by Iqbal (1969), Iqbal (1980) and Harzhauser et al. (2009).
