Fusus bucklandi was named by d'Archiac (1850) [DISTRIBUTION: Early Miocene; Myanmar.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Tritonidea (Cantharus) bucklandi by Vredenburg (1923) and Vredenburg (1925); it was recombined as Cantharus bucklandi by Iqbal (1969), Iqbal (1980) and Harzhauser et al. (2009).
