Taxonomy
Joannisiella was named by Dall (1895) [replacement for Joanisia Dall 1895 not Joanisia Marquis de Monterosato 1888 ]. It is extant.

It was synonymized subjectively with Cycladicama by Cox et al. (1969).

It was assigned to Bivalvia by Taguchi (1981); and to Ungulinidae by Oostingh (1935) and Wells et al. (2021).
