Dimetrodon occidentalis
Taxonomy
Dimetrodon occidentalis was named by Berman (1977). Its type specimen is CM 26565, a set of vertebrae, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCMP 39179, Jemez Canyon (Abo Formation), which is in a Wolfcampian fluvial shale/sandstone in the Abo/Cutler Formation of New Mexico.
