Taxonomy
Rudapithecus hungaricus was named by Kretzoi (1969) [also said to be 1967].
It was synonymized subjectively with Dryopithecus brancoi by Harrison et al. (1991); it was recombined as Hispanopithecus (Hispanopithecus) hungaricus by Alba et al. (2012).
