Shastasaurus careyi

Taxonomy
Shastasaurus careyi was named by Merriam (1902). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Near Bear Mountain, which is in a Carnian/Norian marine horizon in the Hosselkus Formation of California.

It was synonymized subjectively with Shastasaurus pacificus by Mcgowan (1994); it was considered a nomen dubium by Motani (1999) and McGowan and Motani (2003).
