It was synonymized subjectively with Anomoepus by Olsen (1986).

It was assigned to Dinosauria by Hitchcock (1898) and Lull (1904); to Reptilia by Lull (1917); to Amphibia by Kuhn (1958); to Batrachopodidae by Haubold (1969); to Batrachopodidae by Haubold (1971); to Protosuchia by Haubold (1974); and to Theropoda by Romero Molina et al. (2003).
