Hysteroconcha rosea vanwinkleae

Taxonomy
Pitaria vanwinkleae was named by Olsson (1922). Its type specimen is PRI 21320, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Hill No. 3, Banana River [Rio Banano Fm], which is in a Piacenzian marine siliciclastic in the Rio Banano Formation of Costa Rica.

It was recombined as Pitaria (Lamelliconcha) vanwinkleae by Olsson (1927); it was recombined as Hysteroconcha rosea vanwinkleae by Woodring (1982).
