Taxonomy
Palaeontinodes shabarovi was named by Martynov (1937). Its type specimen is PIN 2746/11, a tegmen, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Shurab II, Ditch 52 (PIN collection 2746), which is in a Toarcian terrestrial horizon in the Sulyukta Formation of Kyrgyzstan.
