Taxonomy
Archexyela crosbyi was named by Riek (1955). Its type specimen is University of Queensland Department of Geology C2232, a forewing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Mount Crosby Insect Bed (UQ collection), which is in a Norian pond shale in Australia. It is the type species of Archexyela.
