Laubeia was named by Bittner (1895) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Carn]. It is not extant. Its type is Cardita strigilata.

It was assigned to Bivalvia by Cox et al. (1969), Vokes (1980) and Sepkoski (2002); and to Dicerocardiidae by Ros-Franch et al. (2014).
