Turritella eryna was named by d'Orbigny (1852) [DISTRIBUTION: Early-Late Miocene; Europe.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Turritella (Haustator) eryna by Cossmann and Peyrot (1921) and Harzhauser (2002); it was recombined as Haustator (Haustator) eryna by Janssen (1984); it was recombined as Haustator eryna by Moths et al. (2010).
