Orria was named by Walcott (1916) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm m]. Its type is Orria elegans.

It was synonymized subjectively with Bathyuriscus by Jell and Adrain (2002).

It was assigned to Ogygiocarinae by Walcott (1916); and to Corynexochida by Sepkoski (2002).
