Paraceratherium bugtiense was named by Forster Cooper (1911). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bugti Hills (Forster-Cooper collection), which is in an Oligocene terrestrial horizon in Pakistan. It is the type species of Paraceratherium.
