Daeschler 2020Megalichthyid referred to Megalichthys by exhibiting the following characters: an elongated caudal process of the premaxilla’s medial margin that reaches or nearly reaches the vomer and positions the premaxillary tusk lingual to a continuous premaxillary marginal tooth row; an enlarged dentary fang lingual to a continuous dentary marginal tooth row; and the complete lack of a labial lamina and marginal denti- tion on all three coronoids.
