Taxonomy
Pappictidops orientalis was named by Qiu and Li (1977). Its type specimen is IVPP V4319 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Zhangjiawu South (71008), which is in a Paleocene terrestrial horizon in the Wanghudun Formation of China. It is the type species of Pappictidops.
