Foveotriporites hammenii

Taxonomy
Foveotriporites hammenii was named by González-Guzmán (1967). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Slide F-III-10 (Catatumbo). Loc: 45.2X120.9 (micr. P0-58), a seed repro (Pollen grain), and it is a 3D fossil preserving soft parts. It is the type species of Foveotriporites.

A. E. González-Guzmán 1967Pollen grain triporate, spheroidal; pore P α 2b, P β 3b, P γ 1; foveolate (or with incomplete 'perforate' tectum). Some specimens show a transition between 'foveolate' and reticulate. Diameter of lumina about 1.5 μ. Annulus about 3 μ in diameter. Pore with a diameter of 12 μ in the holotype (excl. annulus). Maximum thickness of exine about 2 μ. Costae pork sometimes visible.
