Taxonomy
Rhynchonella ottomana was named by Bittner (1890). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Han Bulog, near Sarajevo (Hofsmuseum coll), which is in an Illyrian marine limestone in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

It was synonymized subjectively with Rhynchonella protractifrons by Salomon (1895).
