Spiroplectinella was named by Kisel'man (1972) [Sepkoski's age data: K Turo-l R Sepkoski's reference number: 1051]. It is extant. It was considered unknown by Loeblich and Tappan (1987).

It was assigned to Spiroplectamminidae by Loeblich and Tappan (1987); and to Foraminiferida by Sepkoski (2002).

Tappan 1987Test free, with early planispiral coil at least in the microspheric stage, followed by biserial adult stage, followed by biserial adult stage that commonly increases rapidly in breadth, is lozenge shaped in section and may have a marginal keel; wall agglutinated, noncanaliculate, interior fine grained with inner organic lining, outer part of wall more coarsely agglutinated; aperture a low arch at the base of the apertural face. Palaeocene to Holocene. Cosmopolitan.
