Taxonomy
Matyoscor perditus was named by Ameghino (1902). It is not extant. Its type locality is Tarija, which is in a Pleistocene fluvial horizon in the Tarija Formation of Bolivia.
It was recombined as Myocastor perditus by Frailey et al. (1980).
