Crocodilus gaudensis
Taxonomy
Crocodilus gaudensis was named by Hulke (1871). Its type specimen is NMNH-T11228, a partial skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gozo Island, which is in a Burdigalian carbonate limestone in the Globigerina Limestone Formation of Malta.
It was recombined as Crocodylus gaudense by Hulke (1871); it was recombined as Tomistoma gaudense by Lydekker (1886), Lydekker (1886) and Nicholl et al. (2020).
