Taxonomy
Aralocricetodon schokensis was named by Bendukidze (1993). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Altynshokysu (bone bed I), which is in an Oligocene terrestrial siltstone/claystone in the Aral Formation of Kazakhstan. It is the type species of Aralocricetodon.
