Taxonomy
Cidaris plumasensis was named by Clark and Twitchell (1915) [attributed to Clark only]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Taylorsville [Hardgrave Sandstone], which is in an Aalenian marine sandstone in the Hardgrave Formation of California.
