Matthewlabis

Mammalia - Camelidae

Taxonomy
Matthewlabis was named by Prothero (2011) [A recent Web search, however, turned up the name Paralabis for a genus of earwig named by Burr in 1915. Although Burr’s genus has since been synonymized with Anisolabis Fieber, 1853 (Popham and Brindle, 1966), Burr’s usage of the name Paralabis in 1915 has priority over Lull’s use of the name for a camel in 1921. Therefore, I propose the name Matthewlabis as a replace- ment name for Lull’s taxon, so the proper name for the taxon would be Matthewlabis cedrensis. ].

It was assigned to Camelidae by Prothero (2011).
