Taxonomy
Strophomena leda was named by Billings (1860). It is a 3D body fossil. It is the type species of Brachyprion, Brachyprion (Brachyprion).

It was recombined as Brachyprion (Brachyprion) leda by Dewing (1999); it was recombined as Brachyprion leda by Bassett and Cocks (1974), Jin and Chatterton (1997) and Rubel (2011).
