Taxonomy
Diplocaulus parvus was named by Olson (1972). Its type specimen is UCLA VP 3015, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is BC-1 (Chickasha Formation), which is in a Roadian/Wordian deltaic mudstone/sandstone in the Chickasha Formation of Oklahoma.
