Nordiceras timanicum
Taxonomy
Prolecanites timanicus was named by Holzapfel (1899). Its type specimen is TsNIGR 132/304, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ukhta River (Holzapfel collection), which is in a Frasnian carbonate limestone in the Ust-Yarega Formation of the Russian Federation. It is the type species of Nordiceras.
It was recombined as Nordiceras timanicus by Bogoslovsky (1969); it was recombined as Nordiceras timanicum by Becker and House (2000) and Korn and Klug (2002).
