Taxonomy
Erlianomys combinatus was named by Li and Meng (2010). Its type specimen is IVPP V14615.1, a tooth (Left M1), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Huheboerhe-Nuhetingboerhe (AS-1), which is in an Eocene terrestrial horizon in the Arshanto Formation of China. It is the type species of Erlianomys.
