Taxonomy
Pleuromya cuneata was named by Glaessner (1958). Its type specimen is Adelaide University F15300, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Masul Village, Chimbu River, which is in a Cenomanian marine sandstone in Papua New Guinea.
