Lycaenops quadrata
Taxonomy
Dixeya quadrata was named by Haughton (1926). Its type specimen is SAM-PK-7856 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Fossils 'B2', Upper Bone Bed, Chiweta, which is in a Wuchiapingian terrestrial horizon in the Chiweta Beds Formation of Malawi. It is the type species of Dixeya.
It was recombined as Aelurognathus quadrata by Sigogneau (1970); it was recombined as Lycaenops quadrata by Gebauer (2007).
