Scarrittia barranquensis
Taxonomy
Scarrittia barranquensis was named by Ribeiro et al. (2010). Its type specimen is MPEF-PV 7753, a partial skull (incomplete skull with right I3-C, P2-M2, alveoli of I1-2, C, P1; left P2-4 and alveoli for I1-3, C, P1), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is La Cantera, which is in a Rupelian terrestrial horizon in the Sarmiento Formation of Argentina.
