Taxonomy
Paraceratherium huangheense was named by Li et al. (2017). Its type specimen is NWUV 1479, a mandible, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Nanpoping Village, which is in an Oligocene terrestrial sandstone in the Hanjiajing Formation of China.
