Nothosaurus yangjuanensis

Taxonomy
Nothosaurus yangjuanensis was named by Jiang et al. (2006) [Splint-like jugal extending posteriorly to make contact with the squamosal; parietal foramen broadly rounded and followed by a shallow groove; four premaxillary fangs followed by one small conical premaxillary tooth and five small maxillary conical teeth followed by paired maxillary fangs.]. Its type specimen is GMPKU-P-1080, a skull (a complete skull exposed its dorsal and palatal views), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Yangjuan Village, Xinmin District, which is in a Pelsonian marine horizon in the Guanling Formation of China.
