Puffinus pacificoides
Taxonomy
Puffinus pacificoides was named by Olson (1975). Its type specimen is USNM 175963, a limb element (left femur), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sugarloaf Hill, site 1, which is in a Pleistocene eolian sandstone in Saint Helena.
It was recombined as Ardenna pacificoides by Jefferson (1991).
