Taxonomy
Arca perdisparis was named by Wiedey (1928). Its type specimen is SDSNH 23, a valve, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is LSJU loc. 443, Zayante, which is in a Miocene coastal horizon in the Monterey Formation of California.
It was recombined as Scapharca (Scapharca) obispoana perdisparis by Moore (1983).
