It was assigned to Protosuchia by Kuhn (1946) and Carroll (1988); to Crocodyliformes by Gauthier et al. (1989), Pol et al. (2004), Gasparini et al. (2006) and Buscalioni (2017); and to Crocodyliformes by Martínez et al. (2018).
