Asiatosuchus was named by Mook (1940). It is not extant. Its type is Asiatosuchus grangeri.
It was assigned to Crocodilia by Mook (1940); to Crocodilinae by Young (1964); to Crocodylidae by Carroll (1988) and Efimov and Yarkov (1993); to Crocodyloidea by Angielczyk and Gingerich (1998); to Crocodylia by Osi et al.
