Taxonomy
Drillia ocoyana was named by Anderson and Martin (1914). Its type specimen is CAS 228 and is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Clathrodrillia (Moniliopsis) ocoyana by Etherington (1931); it was recombined as Batillaria ocoyana by Addicott (1970).
