Palaeoloxodon tiliensis
Taxonomy
Elephas tiliensis was named by Theodorou et al. (2007). Its type specimen is AMPG.T, various numbers, a skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Charkadio Cave, Tilos, which is in a Pleistocene cave horizon in Greece.
It was recombined as Palaeoloxodon tiliensis by Athanassiou et al. (2019).
