Taxonomy
Pecten (Aviculopecten) trinkeri was named by Stache (1878). It is not extant. It is the type species of Gardenapecten.

It was recombined as Pecten trinkeri by Ogilvie Gordon (1927); it was recombined as Gardenapecten trinkeri by Prinoth and Posenato (2023).
