Taxonomy
Aglaspidida was named by Raasch (1939) [This is a modified spelling of Order Aglaspida Walcott 1911 sometimes attributed as Order Aglaspidida Raasch 1939 or Subclass Aglaspidida Bertstrom 1968]. It was considered monophyletic by Lerosey-Aubril et al. (2017).

It was assigned to Cheliceromorpha by Waggoner (2003); to Arthropoda by van Roy (2006); to Aglaspida by Ortega-Hernandez et al. (2013); to Artiopoda by Siveter et al. (2017); and to Vicissicaudata by Lerosey-Aubril et al. (2017).
