Worlandia was named by Bown and Rose (1979). It is not extant. Its type is Worlandia inusitata.
It was assigned to Dermoptera by Gunnell (1989); and to Plagiomenidae by Bown and Rose (1979), Gingerich (1987) and McKenna and Bell (1997).
